Technology is a great thing. By nature, it improves on things from the past in a jizzy way (yes, I said jizzy). This holds very true with video gaming as Square Enix is looking to keep the ball rolling on the Final Fantasy remakes on newer consoles with Final Fantasy IV DS.

I'm an old gamer to these young tikes today who think video game history begins with the PS2, but I was still very young when FFIV (which was Final Fantasy II stateside) was originally made for the Super NES (or Super Famicom if you're a big nerd). I tried playing it again on an emulator a few years ago, but couldn't sit through it lol. Sorry, but you try playing Final Fantasy VII then going back to that old shit.

Luckily for people like myself, this remake on Nintendo's dual screened bad boy will feature updated graphics (a 3D engine with FMV cut scenes -- le gasp!), new game plus (like Chrono Trigger.. allowing you to restart a new game with stats carried over from a completed game), minigames that take full advantage of stylus control, voice acting, and loads more.

I never finished this game, so I'm going to be picking up this new vision of an old classic when it drops in July on U.S. soil. But seriously Square, cut the bull shit and remake Final Fantasies VI and VII already lol.

I'm amazed FFVII hasn't been remade with the large hype behind it, a straight-to-DVD movie, and now a couple of games branched from it. I wish there was a new game+ in the SNES version of FF6 because I remember not wanting to let go after I defeated Kefka the first time. I do have a DS myself so perhaps I'll look into this game upon its release.

Yea I'll get this when it comes out. I've also heard that FF5 and FF6 will be remade for the DS in the same way. But I don't really care about FF7 being remade.

Ack, I'm ashamed of those old pokemon stories I wrote...not for liking Pokemon but rather for its horrible writing. Destiny was such a Mary Sue and I'm surprised nobody was ever bothered by her obtaining two rare pokemon within the first ten episodes without any effort involved. I'll admit it had its moments, I find myself cringing at some of the jokes (especially when they were taken from the Simpsons).
