Get Smart

I didn't make it out to the movies this weekend due to work, but then again, there's barely anything I want to see. Mike Myers' The Love Guru and Steve Carell's Get Smart opened in wide release however, with Get Smart being the weekend champion.

I have absolutely zero interest in seeing Guru, it just looks stupid. Not like "ha-ha stupid funny" more along the lines of "this is just retarded". Obviously people shared my opinion as it opened at 4th place taking in $14 million. FLOP.

I predict a drop to the bottom of the top 10 quickly as it doesn't even look remotely as appealing as You Don't Mess With The Zohan with Adam Sandler and I have barely any interest in that shit, either. I dunno, I don't trust Sandler anymore after Click. That shit got uber depressing like The Butterfly Effect LOL.

Horror/supernatural movie director M. Night Shama-lama-ding-dong's The Happening continues to let down as it slips to fifth place. Nobody ever likes this guy's movies. He got lucky with The Sixth Sense with that kid from Kingdom Hearts on PS2, but all his other shit is boring and stupid.

However, the big story this week is the close fight for the number 2 and 3 spots between Kung Fu Panda taking in $21.7 million and The Incredible Hulk smashing his way to $21.6 million. That's insanely close! Panda might have more of an appeal due to it being a family film, so that's sort of to be expected. Good effort though, Hulkster.

Here's the full list.

1. "Get Smart," $39.2 million.
2. "Kung Fu Panda," $21.7 million.
3. "The Incredible Hulk," $21.6 million.
4. "The Love Guru," $14 million.
5. "The Happening," $10 million.
6. "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," $8.4 million.
7. "You Don't Mess With the Zohan," $7.2 million.
8. "Sex and the City," $6.5 million.
9. "Iron Man," $4 million.
10. "The Strangers," $1.9 million.
