New Orleans ambassador, Lil' Wayne, is officially on some other shit. HipHopDX reports that Weezy's next project will fall under the "rock" genre.
"Rapper Drake revealed recently that Lil Wayne's latest project will be a rock album. 'Wayne's coming out with a new album, it's a rock album,' said Drake in an interview with MuchMusic.com. 'A complete rock album. I have a song on there.' The rapper likened the project to Kanye West's latest project. 'It’s something different in just that whole 808s and Heartbreaks, just throwing individuals off.'"
Hmmm.. I'd totally buy into this idea that this could work if he could actually play a damn note on that guitar he likes to carry around (playing Guitar Hero on "expert" doesn't mean you can play a real instrument..). I am interested in hearing the style he goes with, however. If he's still rapping then it's nothing terribly groundbreaking. If he's still doing that awful, mumbled singing with auto-tune then I'll personally wipe my ass with every copy of the disc I see. Retail stores, be on alert right now 'cause if you see a tall Black male with his pants down, chances are that's me about to fudgey on the floor then wipe my ass with the linear notes.
All I can say is I hope Lil' Wayne studies N.E.R.D. since they are the kings of genre bending. Do you guys think Wayne can pull this off?
