I admit -- I'm a 90's pop culture geek.
I stand up for the 90's as being the best decade ever to anybody who dares challenge that claim. It's not just a case of nostalgia, the stuff from then was just ridiculously brilliant and mid 90's R&B was most definitely on point.. While it's decent at best in today's world (Ne-Yo for example), you gotta admit the R&B back then was on some other shit completely.
TLC's monster hit "Creep" from the 1994 album "CrazySexyCool" is a fine example of this. As I've mentioned on various parts of the page, I wasn't that in to music at this time in my life. Still, I have some memories of this video and know it got played like every hour lol. I finally bought the album in 2000 (yeah, I was hella late), but I uh, lost it somewhere. "Creep" is still a classic and is probably the best single the group put out.
I just love the arrangement.
Damn, now I really want to hear the entire disc again lol..
If you missed the documentary that aired about Left Eye on VH1, you should really check it out. Sucks that she died... the music world could use a little bit of TLC right about now.. atleast to cushion the amount of Beyoncé we have to deal with.
Correct me if I'm mistaken, but didn't they have a reality show to get a new member a few years ago on UPN called "R U The Girl"? What happened? lol..

Ahhh... I miss the days when music didn't have to rely on repetitious hooks, shitty sex filled lyrics and cheap wordplay to be good.
